About Us

AusJourney is operated by AusJourney Pty Ltd whose sole business is to provide safe, educational and fun Adventurous Journeys for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (The Duke of Ed).

Operating across NSW and the ACT, we offer supervised overnight hikes that meet and exceed The Duke of Ed requirements for their practice and qualifying Adventurous Journeys; Bronze, Silver and Gold.



As a small company, we have the luxury of being able to hand pick our Instructors to ensure the highest level of safety and quality for all our journeys. Highly experienced, these Instructors will accompany and supervise each group, to train and equip participants with the tools and skills to stay safe while meeting and exceeding their Adventurous Journey requirements.

Safety & Risk

Your safety and welfare are our primary concern, and we are committed to the provision of a safe and healthy environment for its participants, general public, service delivery partners and employees.

Our current safety protocols include:

  • Comprehensive policies, procedures and risk assessments in excess of the Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAAS);
  • Internal audits conducted annually across all our operating areas;
  • Dedicated safety procedures to cater for a variety of situations including severe weather conditions;
  • Dedicated emergency management protocols to effectively and efficiently manage any and all critical incidents;
  • Qualification register to track and monitor Instructor qualifications, competency and currency;
  • Comprehensive equipment monitoring, testing and tracking to ensure all safety equipment is up to date and replaced, if required.
