ADVENTUROUS JOURNEYS

AusJourney is proud to support The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, offering supervised practice and qualifying Adventurous Journey hikes. The Adventurous Journey makes up a component of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. It stimulates a spirit of adventure and self-discovery whilst undertaking a journey within a group with an agreed objective/purpose.

2 DAYS, 1 NIGHT

Instructors provide participants with the training and tools they need to start their Adventurous Journey Section of the Award, including navigation, basic first aid, camp set-up and cooking etc. Qualifying participants are expected to assist the instructor in the delivery of this training and mentor their Practice team members.

3 DAYS, 2 NIGHTS

Participants will advance their navigation, teamwork and decision-making skills whilst under the supervision of our Instructor. Qualifying participants will be expected to demonstrate their leadership capabilities whilst mentoring practice participants.

4 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS

Instructors will formally step back  to allow group members to apply their learnings from previous Adventurous Journeys. Team members are expected to problem-solve and work together to achieve their final sign-off. Instructors will continue to ensure the safety of the group and intervene, if necessary.

AusJourney is a Child Safe Organisation that provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for schools who need Bronze, Silver and/or Gold Adventurous Journeys for their students. Our aim is to reduce your administrative workload while providing a safe, educational and fun experience that meets and exceeds Duke of Ed Adventurous Journey requirements.
